The best service I’ve received in a long time – it’s very difficult to find a reputable, honest and accommodating garage these days, however, Jim Reid Service Centre & Car Sales is one of the few left which continues to deliver exceptional customer service and care.

Liam was absolutely brilliant from the get go – I booked my car in for a full geometry alignment after recently lowering the car. I told Liam what sort of setup I was after and he couldn’t have been more accommodating. So after having a breakdown situation putting my car into limp mode, being not too far away from the garage I would always go to “JRVS” I called the garage up and explained what had happened, I was told to make my way down to the garage and they would see what they could do for us.
When I drove in I was met by Liam Reid who although was very busy as they all were took to my car and had a look with a colleague for any obvious issues under the bonnet…. Right away, Liam had seen the problem and told me he would order the parts straight away and would call me when they were in and fitted. It doesn’t stop there…. Myself, my mother, my fiancée and my son were stranded now from our home in Inverurie, the garage was out the door, no courtesy cars available, however, Liam spoke with the legend Gary that works for service, the next thing is we were being chauffeured home safely into our second car to continue on to our journey we were originally on.!!!!!!
The very next day, Liam calls to say the car is all fixed and road tested and ready to be picked up!!!!

It’s been 3 years since my last review of Jim Reid Sales & Service, and whilst my rating remains 5 stars, they need some additional bigging up.
6 hours before we were due to leave on holiday, and the car won’t start.
– Liam comes to the house and diagnoses poorly battery
– 30 minutes later the car eventually jump starts.
– New battery has arrived at the garage before I get there with the car.
– Free loan car while they replace the battery.
– All sorted, and with two hours to spare to pack the car with all the junk three kids and two dogs need…oh, and the kids & dogs as well.

Can’t fault the car servicing at Jim Reid’s. The team there have been looking after us superbly for many years. We bought a new car a few years back and took a three year servicing package with it… never again. Is much prefer to stay local, get a quicker, friendly service. They always have courtesy cars available and are so much better at communicating what stage a repair or service is at. I’ll be using them again (but hopefully not too soon).

My van had a brake problem , I thought it would be minor. When I took it in the whole rear brake assembly including calipers needed replacing, bleeding etc. Jim Reid’s managed to fit this into there schedule , ordering the parts etc all in one afternoon. Somehow they managed to find 3 hours plus in the workshop schedule to work on the vehicle and get it completed. I was very much relieved as I needed it the next day to drive 4 hrs to the airport for my hols- can’t thank you enough , I will be back.

Fantastic experience- the Services team were all friendly and help. The collection of the loan car was seamless and they provided a detailed explanation of the work done on my car when I returned to pick up. I couldn’t recommend them enough and would not hesitate to use them again.

We recently visited Jim reid car sales a few weekends back looking an all round family car that was capable of towing our caravan as well. After looking around at the great stock they had available we got chatting to Liam Reid who was very approachableand went through a few figures with a ford kuga St line x that myself and my fiancée really liked. (We had our hearts set on it) after some correspondence back and fore Liam managed to put together a perfect package including trading in both our vehicles as downsizing.

I cannot recommend Jim reid car sales and their staff highly enough as not once did we feel pressurised or pushed into anything like other big named franchises. We will certainly not hesitate to deal with Liam and the team again in the future this has been a smooth and stress free process.

Following up on my initial request to source a particular spec of youthful low mileage Tiguan 5 years ago, Jim Reid duly supplied. 123K extreme-rural miles later the Tiguan remains reliable.
Yesterday the
dashboard engine management warning light prompted me to phone the Jim Reid Service Centre.
Within 2 hours the vehicle was in their Service Centre, plugged in to their Diagnostics system. A minor issue was diagnosed. Free to drive on, I felt the need to comment positively on consistent courtesy and sensibility from all members of Jim Reid’s staff with whom I have interacted over the past 5 years. I would like to say a massive thank you to Phil Buchan, Jim Reid and colleagues.

After a tricky start to the day suspecting a faulty battery being to blame I got in touch with Phil having rated his honesty very highly during a previous enquiry where I had been looking in to p/x options.
Within no time at all he advised they would have a look at it right away and said perhaps a recharge was all it needed and if not then they would of course quote me for a replacement.
Very shortly after, Phil and his colleague appeared at my door in horrible icy conditions may I add, jump started the car and took it away to Jim Reid. As promised later in the day, Phil confirmed a re charge did the trick and gave some advice too. (Thank you Phil). Not only this though he came back with the car saving me having to drive in the ice and as if that’s not good enough, all this was for free!
All I can say is wow, well done and thank you, words don’t seem enough right now. Phil saved the day and the girl’s Christmas’s and Jim you and your staff continue to smash the ball out of the park in customer service. I will be in within the next few days with a little thank you for you all. I see so much posts that I love where Jim Reid and colleagues help out drivers and the community and now I can say I have been one of the lucky ones. Keep it up gents. We bought a car from Jim Reid this month, from the get go of requesting a test drive of the car i had a text back in the space of a hour and organised it all through text, we visiting and test drove the car we had absolutley no pressure from the salesman Greig. After arriving home i had a text to say thank you for visiting and if there was anything else again to just get in touch. Struck up a deal over text again this is a much better feeling then over the phone and having to think on the spot or feel under pressure. We had a slight issue with a engine light on as soon as we drove away when picking up the car which dampened the experience but it was rectified quickly and the car was dropped off to me 4 days later. All in all i will most definitely been buying my next car its been the best experience buying a car iv had purely with the non pushy sales and our problem being rectified with no hassle.

We recently had the pleasure of purchasing a car from Jim Reid. It was a very efficient service. We found the car online and booked in for a test drive. Unfortunately we were told the next day someone else was coming in prior to us to view the car therefore we instantly called up to put down a deposit and test drive the car later that evening which we loved. Just a few days later our car was ready for collection. Unfortunately there was issues with the screen in the centre console however Jim Reid booked the car in to be repaired at their partnering garage. The car was collected and dropped off, even leaving us with a hire car. We received the car one day later. Absolutely love the car and service !!!!!!!

I recently bought a second car from them (first was an immaculate Audi S1 and this is a stunning BMW M2). I was not 100% sure on what I wanted as my next car but I didn’t hesitate to enquire about the M2 when I saw it on their website as they (especially Phil) are a pleasure to deal with.

They allowed me to test drive it on 2 separate occasions without anyone from the garage tagging along which I’m sure everyone appreciates when test driving a car as it allows you to get a proper feel for it without a salesman nattering on about how amazing it is and also holding you back from testing it properly haha!
After test driving the M2 and having a discussion with Phil, I was offered a brilliant deal that I couldn’t say no to – a better deal than I had been expecting as it’s usually a never ending battle with garages to get what you think is reasonable.
I picked the car up a day before my birthday and Phil had even arranged an additional birthday surprise for me which was amazing as he really didn’t have to- it made my new car buying experience even more exciting! But going above and beyond is just normality for Jim Reid Vehicle Sales now, they really put in the extra effort.

Everyone from Jim Reid Vehicle Sales are very friendly and welcoming as soon as you arrive, chatting away and instantly making you feel at ease. The garage took care of everything for me, it was very stress free and Phil was often in contact with me even on his days off just to keep me updated with what was going on.

Jim Reid and his team made me feel very looked after. I was booked in for my service and MOT and noticed that my car was making a funny noise just before it. I sent a message to Jim to let him know and received a call within half an hour to arrange a courtesy car just in case they had to keep my car (luckily it was fine) as they didn’t want me to struggle getting home from work.

I would recommend this garage to anyone. I have had 4 wheel alignment, servicing, tyres replaced, brake pads replaced, MOT’s, air conditioning repaired and regassed. I have always been happy with their work. At the time of writing this they use Sanity OZone 3 which decontaminates the car from virus including COVID 19.

Absolutely delighted with my new car and the experience – a plea on social media for garage recommendations resulted in Jim Reid receiving 40+ recommendations, he got in touch the same day to find out what I was looking for. 2 weeks after giving my specs he’d sourced the perfect car, popped it through the workshop do fix a couple of minor things and cleaned it to make it look brand new. Having been a lurker on Jim’s Reid Facebook page ogling at all the top motors passing through the forecourt, me and the better half decided to go for a look see one day. Having gave them a call when we were 5 mins away to make sure they could accommodate a drop in appointment, Greig kindly obliged and we were there in the blink of an eye. Greig showed us a multitude of cars that would potentially fit our (read wife’s) needs we were very taken by the Basically new VW Tiguan. 30 mins later, and one test drive, Greig had us inside going over the offer. We need to take it away and talk it over to which there was ZERO of your your typical pushy sales tactics. We liked the car but needed the overall deal to be a little better for us. Greig took all this onboard and sorted out a fair deal all round. Trade in, finance, process, hand over all very smooth and efficient. A breeze to deal with, extremely welcoming and friendly and again not pushy, which turns me off! The current Covid measures are all in place. Stellar business and local to boot. 10/10, 5 stars what ever your rating guide they top it for me and would not hesitate to deal with them again and recommend them to anyone. I will be back for services etc and I’m sure again when we (again read wife) gets bored and fancies a change!

My wife and I recently visited Jim Reid Vehicle Sales to look for a replacement for her 2012 Vauxhall Corsa. We had in mind a Polo so the team sourced one that was due in and had it prepared for a test-drive a couple of days later. Turns out we weren’t fans of the Polo but instead test-drove a lovely Audi A1 from their stock vehicles. We decided to buy it – a lovely vehicle in immaculate condition.

For people like me who have bought cars from Jim Reid over the last 10 years really appreciate what that means. Reading all the other reviews I see that lots of other customers new and returning have had the same unbeatable service.

However, in my opinion the true measure of a business is how they deal with a problem. In over 8 cars I have only ever had a single problem, a good testament to Jim and Phil in itself.

How was it handled? As you would expect from a company with a reputation as good as Jim Reid Vehicle Sales, brilliantly! No hassle, no fuss, promptly sorted and to top it all I was kept on the road throughout with a use of a courtesy car.

When I first went to Jim Reid Vehicle Sales I was only there to look at the VW Golf TDI GT as it was on a list of potential cars that I was trying to narrow down for when I was ready to purchase, which was to be in a about 6 months. I was greeted by Phil who gave me a tour round the Golf and explained the main features of the car to me and then offered me a test drive. I was then able to go on a test drive with my father who was with me, without Phil being there as it allowed to focus on how the car felt and performed without a sales man nattering in your ear constantly like you tend to have at Arnold Clark, Peter Vardy, etc. Once I had completed the test drive, Phil took me into his office and ran some numbers on the finance options available as well as what would come with the deal, such as: the full valet, ¼ tank of fuel, a 6 month parts and labour warranty as well as the mats, roadside assistance, etc. I explained my situation and that I was looking to just narrow down the choice of potential new cars with the expectation of purchasing in the New Year. I also explained that I knew the car I looked at today would probably not be there 6 months down the line, but at least I know what sort of customer experience would be like and is also very important to me. Phil then provided me with his business card with his contact details and allowed me to continue my search for my next potential car. I did contact Phil over the coming days about technical aspects of the car so that I could research running costs and he was prompt and professional in his response. Then my circumstance changed and I was ready to purchase a lot sooner than expected. I contacted Phil and luckily the Golf was still available, and all though there was another Golf in Dundee that was just over £2,000 cheaper and had a couple of additional specs, the customer service was nothing compared to Phil at Jim Reids’. Phil and I decided on a final deal and everything was sorted promptly and so far the car has been fantastic! I haven’t needed much aftercare, but Phil advised me what to expect, for example, a loan car to use while my car is in for its service, etc. I will certainly be going back to Jim Reid Vehicle Sales when I am looking for my next car. I would also recommend to friends and family, they may be a bit more expensive than alternative businesses, but the customer service and experience is definitely worth it!

Unless you’re a petrol head, buying a car can be a serious pain. There are endless choices to narrow down and then you have to start thinking about pricing up the various deals. And who you can trust. Who’s going to have your back, if anything goes wrong. Who’s going to make the transaction a mutually fair exchange.
I knew Jim professionally through working for one of his suppliers, so I formed an impression of his approach to business and decided he’s the answer to the whole problem. The process of buying my last car was this; I rang Jim, told him roughly what I needed in terms of features, performance etc. And a price. Then forgot all about it because I knew Jim would sort it out. And he did.

It didn’t matter that I lived in mid-Wales and he’s up in Aberdeen. Stuff like that is immaterial because he runs one of those rare businesses that’s set up for the benefit of the customer – not the supplier. He got me a perfect car at a perfect price. It didn’t matter that he didn’t have it in stock. He sourced it from one of his many national contacts. He sorted out the logistics of having it delivered to somewhere within easy reach for me.
He even arranged for another trade friend of ours to sort out disposing of my tired old part-exchange.

All I had to do was turn up a few miles from my home, sign the paperwork and drive off again in my new car. I saved hours of hassle and could relax knowing I was in safe hands.
